Quicken is rumored to run under WINE. http://appdb.winehq.org/appview.php?appId=107 http://www.desktoplinux.com/articles/AT2282537026.html Maybe other options are as good, maybe not. OpenERP is probably too big, these might be alternatives to Quicken: http://www.grisbi.org/ http://www.gnucash.org/ http://kmymoney2.sourceforge.net/ Either way, it would be a strong case for open formats and documented APIs for your banking services. > Street Atlas (for planning trips and working with GPS) > Photoshop (for heavy-duty photo manipulation) Rumor is that Photoshop should run under WINE in some circumstances: http://wiki.winehq.org/AdobePhotoshop Some small, low-profile businesses have experimented with, not anything to bet the farm on. ;) http://www.eweek.com/c/a/Linux-and-Open-Source/Penguin-Moves-to-Disney/ What is your definition of 'heavy-duty photo manipulation'? I can relate to the photoshop addiction, I used it since before version 2 until version 7. But my use can no longer be called heavy duty. Since I hardly use Photoshop these days (Adobe never came out with a linux version, GIMP meets all my RGB needs much faster) I've stopped buying it.
