Actually, I'm pretty close to the same decision myself but I'll more
likely just continue to fumble along using both MSO and OOo in order to
do the things I insist I must be able to do.
Me too.
It's the little irritations like help screens that are in a monstrously
huge typeface without it being apparent how they can be changed; helps
that don't exist (like how to unhyperlink a link); like setting defaults
for parameters; like not having a "repeat the last action" key.
Now maybe those things all DO exist, but if so why is it so damnedly
difficult to find them how to control them?
Then there are the big gripes - but they might be the combination of HW
and OS that I happen to be using. First, oh boy, do I get tired of the
zooming in and out that plagues me. Yes, the solution as another user
pointed out is a different version of OO, but I want to stay mainstream.
Second, oh boy squared, do I get tired of Calc freezing my MacBook Pro
when I try to manipulate a block of cells.
But I'll stick around on principle that OO has to be supported, and
trust that OO will actually get better faster than I get irritated of
it. At least it doesn't try to tell me that it knows better than me
what I want to do next, which was one of the reasons I abolished M$.
And it does 99% of what I want, it's that 1% that can be so irritating.
