As someone else mentioned, you may also want to consider moving to Linux
and cutting all ties to Microsoft.  By doing so, you'll cut yourself
free of the problems that so often affect Windows users.  A few minutes
ago, I was on the phone with an uncle, who just lost the sound and
internet connection on his computer.  It could be a virus or something
got corrupted etc., things that simply don't happen on Linux.  If you
can afford it, Macs are also a good alternative.  A company I'm
currently doing some work for switched to Mac, to get rid of all the
problems caused by running Windows.  OpenOffice.org is available for
Macs too.  There's a whole world of software out there, that's free of
Windows and generally a lot better for it.  Due to the dominance (often
illegally acquired) of Windows, many people simply don't realize that
software is not supposed to be so bad.
