I don't see any disclaimers about bricking your computer anywhere on the OOo website. Either provide a reference to an installation of ANY build of Openoffice.org EVER 'bricking someone's computer', or stop spreading dis/mis-information. >> Using the snapshot builds trashes hardware? > Back in Sept 2008, the alpha release of Ubuntu trashed the video card > on some systems. Oh, please... 1. That was an OPERATING SYSTEM update, not an Openoffice.org install, You do realize the fact that you would make this statement as if the two were even remotely similar really demolishes your credibility? 2. That was an *extremely* rare event even for an OS update to do something like that. Yes, it is possible to damage CPU/GPUs by overclocking them to the point they overheat (and that is (had to be) essentially what happened in that case), but that would be extremely unlikely even during an alpha install of an OS. It is more likely that the USER did something stupid when they performed the update - but I don't know the facts of the case, and maybe it was a major screw-up on the part of the Ubuntu devs... --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [email protected] For additional commands, e-mail: [email protected]
