There are OOo reports of issues with graphic cards... sample: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=45534 [Impress Slide Show Crashes Video Card] http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=46666 [Screen distorted after playing arround with impress] None of those appear to have caused permanent damage to the video card, but I reckon they could be interpreted as 'trashed the video card'.
