Many of the issues belong to different projects, most of which I am not the only member of. Although I have no fear of databases, it seems that Excel has many database-like features and this is what people want to use. I am glad enough that I convinced in most cases to use OOo as MSO does not run on my operating system of choice. I would be off the research if I were to start dictating that we must use Base, furthermore, in most cases Excel would work fine for what is needed. I know that this is not the ideal answer, but it is the reality of the situation.
