Hello, I had this problem too and found it very-very-very frustrating, to the point of looking at other open source spreadsheets.
If your spreadsheet program can't copy formulas, you don't really have a working spreadsheet program. My computer experience goes back even further than James (mid 1960's), and I could not figure it out for the longest time. The solution turned out to be very similar, and this thread was of immense help. Thank you both... In a nutshell; Something changed with the way the X11 Primary and Clipboard selection buffers are handled (at least under Fedora 11/12 and KDE 4). That's another long story, and still unresolved, but my temporary solution was to use xclipboard for temporary "pigeon holes". (xclipboard is a little utility that has been part of X11, at least since X11R4, and probably goes back even further). Anyhow, cut and paste, paste special under OO calc work fine for me if I just close xclipboard. If xclipboard running, I have the exact same problem James describes (and it's quite crippling). Now, if only I could solve my other cut/paste problems under X11 ... Regards... luislupe wrote: > > Hi James, > > The sync selection option in Clipman is causing the problem.
