KDE is v4.4.4.
When a USB stick or an optical disk is inserted, Devce Notifier pops up
to tell me that this has happened, and then pops down again. As far as I
can see, nothing else happens: Nowhere am I asked what I want to do with
the thing (eg, mount, ignore, or anything else), nor do I see any
difference in the Konqueror file browser. indicating the presence of a
new device. I assume that I just don't know where to look, although I
spent a bit of time yesterday searching.
What am I supposed to do next, knowing that the device I had just
inserted, is in fact inserted?
I know nothing about KDE, but I'd suggest looking at
http://maketecheasier.com/manage-removable-devices-in-kde/2010/05/24
which seems to offer some advice.
It was the very first link from a google for 'kde removable drive', so
some perseverance with google may elicit more help.
Also, this has nothing whatsoever to do with OpenOffice, so I'm not
quite sure why you ask on this list. You may get more advice from a more
appropriate forum (again, try google if you don't know any).
