KDE is v4.4.4.
When a USB stick or an optical disk is inserted, Devce Notifier pops up
to tell me that this has happened, and then pops down again. As far as I
can see, nothing else happens: Nowhere am I asked what I want to do with
the thing (eg, mount, ignore, or anything else), nor do I see any
difference in the Konqueror file browser. indicating the presence of a
new device. I assume that I just don't know where to look, although I
spent a bit of time yesterday searching.
What am I supposed to do next, knowing that the device I had just
inserted, is in fact inserted?
Ooops, wrong list Stan. I am guessing you wanted to send to the openSUSE list
:-)
Click the device notifier and it'll pop/slide open, and you can click the
attached device in the list to get the choices of what to do with it... or open
Dolphin and the device will be shown there as well... click it and it'll
mount... click the unmount icon to the right of the device name (in Dolphin or
in the device manager) to unmount/eject.
