You know, I haven't installed Micro$oft Office on a machine I own or
work on since 1994 when I found "StarOffice" originally created by a 16
year old German kid. I've used it ever since. Under OS/2, Windoze, and
LInux, then migrated to OpenOffice as it evolved.
NO ONE KNOWS. They all think I' have office. I only had a brief issue
when office '07 came out with that abysmal .???x file format until
someone created an extension and a conversion program that allowed me to
handle them.
I'm the "go to" guy to get things done with word processing and
spreadsheets, and everyone asks why they can't do what I can.
But when I tell them I use OpenOffice and they should also, I get the
"deer in the headlights" look, as though their head will explode if they
fail to follow father Gates and his devil spawn.
oh well, they'll learn....

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the
intention of arriving safely in an attractive and
well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways,
Dark Chocolate in one hand - Tequila in the other, body
and mind thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming
"WOO HOO - What a Ride!"
