thanks for your reply, though none of the above suggestions will work ;(
OTOH, do you think that past special should work between two different
spreadsheets? I'd suppose it worked within the same spreadsheet as it
doesn't seem to be settable as a 'general' Calc configuration ...
I found a workaround that seems to work: in the ss I'm importing from I
set a cell "=named_range" (this will show the value) and give it a new range
name (say n_r2). Then, importing n_r2 into the second ss will correctly
show the desired value!
