What is tedious about it? Copy your address info & Insert|Envelope & and
paste your bits. The OP was asking about setting up an envelope for a
one-time letter; " I don't need a mail merge type address list as most
of my letters are once only".

The only difference between that and MS Word, it that MS Word
automatically pastes the data/address info that you've highlighed into
the to section of the envelope. With OOo you need to highlight and copy,
then do the rest.
