You mention fonts in the Subject and this is definitely a possibility. Use File >AutoPilot/Wizard > Install fonts from the web to ensure both have the same fonts. Next check Tools > Options > OpenOffice.org > Fonts for font replacements on both. Lastly use spadmin to see if both machines have font replacement enabled and are the same for the default printer. As to screen resolution, this might give some appearance differences.
