I'm pretty sure I've seen this discussion on every forum I've been on.  I
agree that the user should do their best to solve the problem on their own,
and provide as much info as possible when posting their question since this
usually leads to the better solution.  There is nothing wrong in pointing
that out.  This also helps other people searching the forum archives for
solutions down the road.  However, since I am no super-user, I also know I
don't have to respond to every request that is made.

btw we should probably wrap up this thread before it turns into a shouting
match.  Was the original question ever answered, I forget?
