What formats can you fax in?

I am unsure of what you are asking by formats (file formats?).
I am using (Linux) Mandriva 2005LE, OO.o vers. 1.1.4 OpenOffice, to my knowledge, does not host a way to fax directly.
If someone knows a way please let me know. My belief: You can
prepare a message/letter/etc. ... in OpenOffice and save it as a
PostScript file via "print to file", then start KDEprintFax
(front end for HylaFAX, EFax, and ....) that you enter the
postscript file name and destination phone number, and the rest
is automated. This only applies to Open Office, in KDE it can be
sent from the printer menu.

I guess my question is what types of information can KDEprintFax take in, just post script?
