To the best of my knowledge both HylaFAX and EFax,either one can be the underlying code for KDEprintFax, use the postscript file format to rasterize the data into a graphic page. KDEprintFax is just a front end that uses HylaFAX, EFax, Mgetty -sendfax, and "other" (that is blank. it is to be declared by the user). The only settings that can be changed in KDEprintFax is: page size (Letter, Legal, A4) and resolution (regular, fine). But all this is in-material as the problem is generated in Open Office "print to file" section. The only way that I have found to extract a portion of the area (range) of a spreadsheet/workbook is to "set the print range" or select (highlight) the area and send it to the printer. The area that I am interested in gets chosen properly, gets displayed properly in "page preview" and when sent to my HP LaserJet prints properly. To send this out as a fax, I must send this out as a (saved) file and then use a different piece of software (fax program) to fax the file. When I select/highlight/declare the area and choose file -> print, just as I would when I want to send it to the printer, but then from the pop-up selection box I select "print to file". The "Print range" (this is the label in the pop-up settings menu) lists: "All"; "Pages"; "Selection". Next to "pages is a side window that shows "1-3" (for this particular file), I assume means that OO.o is building a file of 3 pages and you can select page 1, 2, or 3. Choosing "Selection" then clicking "OK" a new pop-up window appears that allows you to navigate to folder that you want it saved in; the name of the file; and file type - file type is set to "postscript" and can not be changed. Going to the folder file was saved in and loading the file in a window to inspect it, (Ghostview is used to 'read' *.ps files and shows them in *.pdf format on the monitor) and this is where I found that it was saves as 3 pages and they were only half of the width of the original data screen, in effect half of the data was lost. This is all Open Office - I have not gone to KDEprintFax at this point -- billm326(at)comcast(dot)net --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
