I have recently been introduced to OpenOffice
and I am generally impressed. I have, however, experienced some
problems with opening my letterhead and documents previously saved in
Microsoft office on my letterhead. My letterhead is a template we
created ourselves consisting of the image you see below in the signature
in a header with our particulars typed underneath. When opening the
letters in Microsoft the header is grayed out and not editable unless you
double click on the header area. When opened in open office the
header is simply part of the document contents and the typed parts are
unlegable. When checking the paragraph formating I noticed that the
line spasing is fixed instead of single but if i change it to single it is
completely stuffed up when opening it in microsoft office on the other Pc
on the network. The letterhead also has a footer with the same
features. Is there settings I need to change.
Another question if I may. How do I set
the default setting for the new document that opens when I start
OpenOffice. I mailed these questions to tutorials last week and
still had no response. I hope I am at the correct address for assistance
now.
