Hi ... I am proof reading several chapters of a book I wrote some time ago,
possibly using an older version of OOo Writer (I am currently using version
1.1.4)
The Spell Check was not behaving the way I expected and I noticed that it
was checking English (USA), and I am in Australia, and need to use an
Australian Dictionary.
Now, I have the Australian Dictionary installed and have been using it for
some time and even added new Aussie words and place-names to it. However, I
checked under Tools > Options > Language settings, and I had, in fact, set
it to use and Australian Dictionary, but the default area/language was set
to USA, so I changed that to Australia.
In the actual Spell Checker I also changed the default USA dictionary to
the Australian one.
PROBLEM
The Spell Checker will check part of the document using the Aussie
Dictionary and then revert without warning to the USA Dictionary. As I say,
this is an old document and perhaps some inappropriate properties have been
saved with it.
QUESTION
How do I change my default Language / Dictionary after the Spell Checker
has already started parsing the document using the US Dictionary?
