Dear Users:
..
Still, I am a bit perturbed that on GIMPs main page I can find nothing
which directs me to the Windows Installation page. How did youall find
that url?
hmm. i think that by following the link "gimp for windows" from the main
page you would find installers for windows :)
Thanks again. I now have to re-learn much of my picture editing skill,
but hopefully it won't be crashing on me.

PS
What about the patch <patch-2.2.8.gz
<ftp://ftp.gimp.org/pub/gimp/v2.2/patch-2.2.8.gz>>? Did it automatically
get caught up in the Installation? It just seems to be sitting there in
the Download files, with all the other GIMP stuff. And
<pkconfig-0018.tar.gz>? Was that really needed? I was never able to open
it either.
patch i a patch for sources if you would want to patch an older version
and get 2.2.8. you must compile it later, so that's probably not
interesting for you :)
pkgconfig also is a tool that helps with software creation (though
mostly used on linux systems nowadays)
Ah me. So many mysteries. Such as the left navigation pane on GIMP page.
It says: "donating / bugs" under Getting Infolved?? Should I send my old
PhotoShop?
i don't think there would be any use of old photoshop
license/installation media for anybody :)
if you are interested in learning more about gimp, advanced picture
processing etc, you probably should subscribe to gimp mailing lists.
