This is what I do after every install:
- Open Writer, go to File > Wizards > Install new dictionaries
- Install the Dutch spelling checker dictionary and the hyphenation
dictionary
- Restart OOo (I didn't install the quicklaunch app)
- Tools > Options > Language Settings > Languages
- User interface: Default
Locale setting: Dutch
Default currency: EUR € Dutch
- Default languages for documents. Western: Dutch (it has the 'ABC' logo
in front of it).
Even after restarting OOo and my computer the Dutch spell check doesn't
recognise any of the words typed.
It will only work after I manually unzip the dictionary files in the
OpenOffice\share\dict\ooo folder.

Have you selected you language in Tools/options/languajes ? Because I'm
following your process with every snapshot of oo2 and I don't have any problem.
PS:After changing oo2 language options you need to restart oo to take efect (not sure if it is always needed..)
