Not a common request for this functionality within Office software. The more common approach is to include this type of functionality into an email client, etc...
If you use Mozilla products (Thunderbird (email client) ; Firefox (web browser)) there is a plugin available which will deliver this for you called Sunbird (http://www.mozilla.org/projects/calendar/sunbird.html) If your on windows and _not_ using Thunderbird/Firefox, you should be ( as opposed to the buggy and virus attracting outlook/IE ).
