You can join the documentation group and/or OOo Authors. The former is at http://documentation.openoffice.org. The latter is at www.oooauthors.org. There is a great need for someone to write the user's guide for Impress for 2.0 in the OOo Authors group. I have written a chapter on Getting Started with Impress, but I doubt I have the expertise that you do.
