First off, I have never known any Microsoft product to work 100%, not that OpenOffice does. But, at least OpenOffice is honest with its stable, release candidate and final versions. When Microsoft releases their versions, it's always a bug infested beta, but Microsoft refuses to acknowledge it. For example, look how many different versions of Windows 95 they released. Then, Microsoft always charges you an outlandish price for it. Microsoft finally wised up in calling its first Vista release a Beta.
For the price of OpenOffice, one would have to have an overabundance of cash that he didn't know what to do with to want to purchase Microsoft Office.
