     First thing: make sure that the quickstarter is off. To do so, look 
at the icons to the left of the clock in the bottom right of your 
screen. If you see a blue and white icon with sea gulls in it, right 
click and close it.
     Do a search under "All Files and Folder" for common.xcu. At least 
three such files should be found. The one you want to delete should be 
listed in this folder:
C:
\ProgramFiles\OpenOffice.org1.1.0\user\registry\data\org\openoffice\Office\
(This should all be on one line.) Delete this file. Restart 
OpenOffice.org.
     If you accidentally delete the wrong one, go to the 
OpenOffice.org1.1.0 folder. Double click setup. One of the choices will 
be repair. Select Repair. Follow the directions on the screen. It will 
replace the accidentally deleted file. And yes, you will have to start 
over to remove the correct common.xcu file.
