There are free ways to make PDFs with MSO (free, assuming you already bought
MSO). PDF Creator is one of them:
http://sector7g.wurzel6.de/pdfcreator/index_en.htm - and there are others.
It makes it as easy to make a PDF as it is to print.

But, it is very nice to have it built in to OOo. And, of course, OOo doesn't
cost anything.

PDFCreator, btw, works with any Windows program that can print, because it
sets itself up as a printer. So there is a reason to get PDFCreator, even if
you use OOo. (Assuming you use Windows. If you use Mac, try PrintToPDF -
http://www.jwwalker.com/pages/pdf.html - but it is shareware.)
