Delect Text CVS as the filetype, you should
be able to open file in Calc. If you do not bother to do
this selection, then OOo will open in Writer. For more info

This does not work for me. When I select Text CSV, my file disappears
from the file dialog because its extension is ".xhtml". If I change
the extension to CSV I can see the file, but as expected Calc then
considers it a CSV file and will not correctly open it.
So my original question stands:
how can one open an XHTML file (created by Calc) in Calc?
