Thanks very much for this, which works nicely, and is one way - if a bit inconvenient. I did install the latest OO version, to no avail - it seems this non-regular hexagon drawing behaviour is intentional. That's a shame, because every other similar program (including Microsoft) I've used will draw regular hexagons easily. It may be that the simplest way is to draw a random hexagon, then set its size manually to 10cm x 8.66cm. Now you can resize this holding down the shift key and it will maintain the aspect ratio. And you can copy/paste for more. Not as good as it could be, hence I thought I was probably missing something.
