Jim,
The WORD format is not documented so a lot of what we know about it is
by trial and error, and a bunch of guess work. I rarely every find a
document that does not properly import into OOo, but I do know that the
import is not perfect. My recommendation is that you first try this with
version 2.01 release candidate 2. If you still experience problems, can
you open an issue and then attach one of your documents to the issue.
This will allow the responsible people to improve the import so that
your document's will work in future releases of OOo.
