Googling I saw that openoffice can import .dxf files. I am using

Do I need a plugin? If so, where is it?
Thanks for pointing out the dxf option - I hadn't been aware of it.
I can open dxf files alright in OOo 2, which is great, but I wonder
whether one can actually *do* anything with them apart from displaying them?
For example, searching for text contained in a dxf file (understandably)
doesn't work) - am I right in assuming that displaying the file is the
only option?
