It should be setup through packages (however, you have to have some
backports of OOo, because OOo is officially only in sid and so you should
have KDE 3.4.3, so there should be some problem with your packages), but
for know you just go to Control Center/KDE Components/File Associations,
find particular MIME type (type odt into the search field on the top of the
dialog, you should get application/vnd.oasis.opendocument.text) and then
set Openoffice.org Writer as the application for opening odt files.
