It may be that we're just expected to know. I do. Most do.

Or used to.

Top-posting is a fairly recent aberration perpetrated largely
by NetNewbies who have never grasped why it is that when they
reply to an email, their editor places their cursor at the 
beginning of the post to which they're responding.

Though I've never had much exposure to the process, 
I strongly suspect that the use of web-based email facilities
(as opposed to those native to one's machine) could be 
a contributing factor in this sort of, uh, thing.

Since I don't know whether RLSHadow is subscribed to this list,
I am sending a copy to that address as well.
