You gave me a work around to my problem. My original problem was not being
able to set the tabs on large files on the ruler. Is that a known problem or

someone else reading this thread can tell you.
I don't set tabs using the rulers. From my point of view, setting
the tabs in the paragraph styles is not a workaround; it's the
best, most appropriate way to set tabs, using the power of styles
in OpenOffice.org... one of its most important and valuable
features, in my opinion.
