OOo is not really designed for writing emails. For many people receiving an MSWord document with plain text in it is quite annoying. If you are really only interested in spellchecking there are a number of free utilities on the web to enable spell checking in Outlook express. Note however that we would STRONGLY advise you to switch to any other email client as Outlook is almost always targetted by virus writers. I would recommend Thunderbird from http://mozilla.org as a very good replacement.
