You do not say which operating system you are using, but since your message was created with Outlook Express I am assuming Windows. In which case, use "Start > Find Files and Folders". When the search window opens, type "OOo_2.0.1_Win32Intel_install.exe" or just "OOo" in the "Search For" field/box and click on the "Start Search" button. If the installation file you believe you have downloaded is on your computer this should find it. When you do find it double click on the file and follow the options displayed by the installer program. If you need more information about installing OOo go here: http://download.openoffice.org/2.0.1/instructions.html#win OOo (OpenOffice.org) is a free office suite, that includes a word processor called "Writer" which is very similar to Microsoft Word. Writer can open and save documents in MS Word file format, it does most of the things that MS Word can do (and some that it can't) and both programs can coexist on the same computer. Information about using Writer and the other components of OOo can be found here: http://documentation.openoffice.org/manuals/index.html There is also a wealth of information about OOo to be found here:http://documentation.openoffice.org Please reply to [email protected] only. Hope this helps Dave Also more helpful information from another subscriber to this list. (Shriramana, this was a direct post to the list from an non-subscribed user, so he would not have seen your reply.)
