I am not sure I fully understand your question, so my apologies if I get it wrong. Are you saying that you and your brother each have OOo (OpenOffice.org) installed on your computers and when you email him an OOo file format document he cannot see any of the pictures you included in the document? If this is the case, it may be that you are "linking" the pictures not "embedding" them. Try opening one of the offending documents and right click on one the pictures, then select "Picture..." from the pop-up menu. In the Picture dialog select the "Picture" tab and look to see if there is anything in the Link -> File Name edit box. If there is then you have only put a link to the picture on your computer, not the picture itself. The easiest solution is to select and delete the pictures from the document, then insert them again, but this time make sure the "Link" checkbox (bottom left hand corner) of the "Insert Picture" dialog is unchecked/clear.
