Easest way to solve this is to take your computer to a computer shop and let
them fix it. Make sure you go to a top quality shop in your area. Ask local
friends where to go as this is an international list and it is excedently
unlikely that anyone on this list would know your local area.

The easest way to convert .sxw files to .doc files is to install OpenOffice,
Open the files and then save in .doc format.

To get a copy of OpenOffice go to download page at OpenOffice.org and download
and install.

I don'tknow how to convert the files to a format

.swx is the stand Sun Microsystem Write file format. If I recall correct this
format predates Sun purchasing what is now called Sun Office Suit the
commerical version of what you can get for free as in free bear from
OpenOffice.org.

Yes

No. Why down load and install an older version of the program?
Besides OpenOffice-2.0 has the best DataBase in any office suit.

It is not listed in my installed programs,
