Thanks. I took a quick look and didn't find any global setting for kerning (other than possibly Asian language settings). I only found 'pair kerning' under Format > Character. To use it I need to either select text, in which case it works only on that text, or set it and then start typing text. It works better on some fonts than others but it doesn't seem to affect space around dashes. If you mean that I can use Format > Character to add or remove fixed amounts of space from around characters in a selection then, yes, for en/em dashes this works. This is good to know. Technically, from what I can see, this only adds or removes a constant amount of space after each character in the selection. So if I want to change the space around an em dash in 'A-B.' (pretending the hyphen is an em-dash), I should select only the 'A-'. If I select 'A-B' and expand then I get 'A - B .' (ugly) instead of 'A - B.'. I wonder if this feature would be more efficient for users if OOo did not add/remove space after the last character in a selection. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
