Just a suggestion ... Do all your test printing on plain paper, then place it behing the labels and hold up to the light. You can see any misalignment problems without wasting labels.
Regarding the alignment ... If there are no including templates in OOo (I haven't checked), just take some good measurements from the labels and setup a table in the document to match.
