Hi Shaun,

Unfortunatly, I must have the page numbers in the center at the bottom
of the short edge. What you mentioned about using a frame sounded
promising, but I was not successful at rotating the frame. Is this
possible? I see this type of publication all the time (rotated table w/
page number on short edge). How do they do it?!?
Thanks for your further explanantion.
If you follow my instructions, but activeta the footer and place the
pagenumber in the center, you should get what you want.

I suggest that you try the following:
- set the page style to landscape ;
(Stylist, F11, choose icon for page styles (4th left top), rightclick
in the active style (probably default), tab page)
- also activate the header, on the tab header;
- close the dialog with OK;
- now place the cursor in the header area and type two tabs (if
necessary change tab settings/position);
- choose insert fields page number;
- select the page-number (field) you just inserted;
- now choose Format|Character in the menu;
- go to tab position and set the rotation to 90 degr.
By choosing footer in stead of header etc. you can play with the
position of the page-numbering.
You might also give a try to the use of a frame.
Succes & greetings,
Cor
