You could install the version of OpenOffice meant for removable drives.

I keep one of my 256mg thumb drive. I have room for all of my files AND
a version of FireFox and a Version of GAIM and NVU. All with plenty of
maneuverability room. Not sure how much room it actually takes but I
have also installed it to 128 with no problems. You could probably email
someone for the specifics or I could look it up later.

ALSO, this probably goes against every programming thought possible, but
I went into the clip art folder and deleted all of the pictures. Didn't
need them, I prefer my own. And since it was a removable drive, The
program would be for when I was having to do emergency work anyway where
I would not need clip art. But I would not necessarily try this on an
installed version.

I removed the program and reinstalled it with just Calc. The same 171
MB folder appears. The problem as I see it is that the install
program puts everything in the OpenOffice folder on the hard disk
(zipped jar files, unwanted programs, etc.) instead of in a TEMP file
for deletion after the install is complete.

Since I have a CD for emergencies, why leave everything on my hard
disk after the installation? Can this be avoided?

Thanks,
