I work at UPS. At the largest UPS Hub in the world. The largest employer in Kentucky.
We use Microsoft Office. In my experience, about 2/3 of the employees use Excel for drawing, not any formulas or anything that takes training. This is using the boxes to draw layouts. These same 1/2, do not have a clue what a database is and rarely, rarely use email. Word just makes a handy tool to type out letters, or when opening jokes from Outlook. We do not use net meeting. In fact, all of the new computers I have seen are Linux slim terminals that run Firefox. It still will hook into Citrix for the office applications, but they are not getting windows terminals anymore. Most of the techs I talk to also run Linux and are supportive of non-Microsoft applications. My opinion. They are scared. I have seen Beta testing of the new office and have a copy. It is just plain SCARRRRYYYY! And now they are pushing for users to downgrade their Office 2003 copies of Office or they will not be able to do ANY microsoft updates.....Someone goofed big time and they are trying to CYA. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
