I can find nothing in paragraph styles to center text vertically on a page. Ross, Roxann is not trying to arrange the text vertically (rotate the text), but to have equal space above and below the text on the page, for example putting a title in the middle of the page. At least, that's the way I read her question.

As far as I know, the only way to center a paragraph on a page is the method suggested by Peter Hillier-Brook in another note on this thread: create a single-celled table tall enough to fill the page. Vertical centering is then a click on <Center vertical> in the Table toolbar.

Maybe I missed something. I went thru the Writer Guide and only found
out about centering horizontally.

But did you find it anyway? If you look through the paragraph style
dialog tabs, you'll find "Rotation/scaling" under the "Position" tab.

The guide is still only a draft, but if it's not in there, or if the
manual needs to be better organised, then that's good to know.

How do you center a single paragraph on the page vertically?

I would suggest creating a paragraph style that meets your needs. Start
by opening the Style toolbar, select default and use the create a new
style from selection icon to start. For help in this effort see
