Ah, more time, more time. I need more time. :) I never have enough

If the solution is to use a different operating system and product,
then why have Linux and OpenOffice at all?

That is the point of making bug reports when problems occur. That is
the point of this discussion. To make OOo better. Other than a few
issues, OOo 2.0 is much better than 1.4 was. Heck, once I started
using the 2.0beta, I never looked back.

The solution was an issue with time. I didn't have the time to try
and find what was causing my problem. I needed to get the paperwork
done and I needed it now.

When I have problems with a paragraph or perhaps several consecutive paragraphs, I create an empty paragraph above them with the formating I want using styles. Then I cut the offending paragraph(s) and Edit > Paste
Special > Unformatted text. If there are any character styles that need

to be changed, I change them.

Good option if you don't have to keep the format of the original or as close to the original as possible. Or when pasting the material brings the problem with it and you cannot find the reason for the formatting problem. This has happened to me with OOo 1.4 but I have not been doing much editing lately. My wife is another story though. She keeps demanding this as she has to do this type of work on a daily basis.
