If you are interested in character style changes, then leave it on character styles. And be sure you know which styles inherit which attributes from which other styles. Do you have to change: i) Content; ii) Markup: iii) structure You have claimed that you can not change markup; You have claimed that you can not change content; You are now claiming that you have to change structure; Nothing I have read indicates that "Reveal codes" can do anything about the strucutre of the document. More to the point, WP provides another tool for structuring a document. > > Did you read _any_ of the documentation on styles? > Yes I have a copy at my desk, both at home and at work. I have yet to see an example of where styles do not work. [I'll grant that changing all instances of a word from character style "a" to character style "b" is a PITA, but that is not because styles don't work. Rather, it is because find/replace doesn't allow for character style searches, or for replacing a word with a word that uses a specific style. xan jonathon -- Ethical conduct is a vice.
