Are you using linux? If not, don't worry about an RPM. You don't use them for
Windows or Mac installation.

If you are using Linux, RPMs are pretty important. They are the way you
install software on many linux distros. If you are going to use linux you
should read up on RPMs. I can't speak for other distros of Linux but in
Mandriva they are pretty much point and click.

It's easy to say it's too hard. Just remember that the majority of people here
installed the software and I'm sure lots of the people here don't consider
themselves tech savy but they had a job they wanted to get done and they
tried. You don't have to understand the commands so it's not that important
that it's over your head. You just have to execute them

Again, looking at the Setup guide in the link someone sent to you, it's really
pretty simple and it's pretty standard and not esoteric for installing
software on linux unless you use programs with a gui. For example instead of
the tar command, you could use ARK or some program like it to decompress the
program.

If you are using linux it's possible that you have a version of OO that was
prepared for that distro. Do you know how to install software on your version
of linux? Look at your distros list of available software for OO and install
it according to the directions for software installation on your distro.
