Dave, You have described the situation. I am using Open Office Writer 2.0.2 and opened the format, character, color sequence. I have also tried using the tool bar color function. I don't know if this is related, but when I tried to make text yellow in Impress, only black text ensued. This did not happen using Microsoft Power Point. What configuration could I change in my computer? Clive

Under the Font Effects > tab, changing the Font color should change the font color. > > Dan I think Clive is referring to the "Character" dialog in Writer, under "Font Effects" tab there is a preview window. I have not succeeded in replicating the issue with Writer on any platform, so either there is some configuration problem on his system, or we are not understanding correctly what he is trying to achieve.
