Hi Henrik

I found my original email and your response at
http://www.openoffice.org/servlets/SearchList?listName=users

but there doesn't appear to be a way to post responses at that site.

I uninstalled OO 2.01, booted, then installed OO 2.02, booted, and did an
export to "Microsoft Excel 97-2000 - Data Only (xls)".

To my surprise, the file opened correctly and displayed the data. I should
clarify that, previously (with 2.02) the xls file would open, but did would
not display any data unless you opened it with Excel first, closed it, and
then re-opened it with OO. We experienced this behavior on a Windows XP
box, and also on machines with Windows 2000 Server and Windows 2003 Server.
The XP box has Excel 2003 installed on it, but the two servers have
OpenOffice only.

I have now uninstalled 2.02, booted, installed 2.03, booted, and export to
Excel works fine as well.

I know that I did NOT reboot after the previous installations of 2.02 and
2.03, and it appears this is a MUST, for Crystal Reports export to Excel to
work properly.

It is probably moot now, but I've attached a zip with three exports, with no
OO installed, with OO 2.02, and then with OO 2.03 installed

Thank you for your time and interest.

Jim Poklitar

Can you place your xls files on a server and provide an URL for us to
fetch them (Attachments are stripped from this list) ?
Or make an Issue and attach a failing xls file to it?

This seems to be a problem for Crystal Reports, not for OOo.
