I have OpenOffice.org (correct name) on a laptop with Win 98SE on
it. So, it will run if the computer meets the minimum requirements.
These are * 128 Mbytes RAM * 200 Mbytes available disk space and
* 800 x 600 or higher resolution with at least 256 colours. (Note: my
folder from OpenOffice.org (OOo) is 310 MB, so keep this in mind.)
If you have access to broadband, you can download OOo and burn it
to a CD. You are free to install on your own computer as well as hers
if you like. The web address for the download is
http://download.openoffice.org. If you would rather purchase a CD,
there is a list of companies which will sell you a CD with OOo on it
for a small price. A link to them in at the bottom of the download
page I just gave you. (It is the CD-ROM link under Other.)
There are User's Guides available for downloading on the web site
also: http://documentation.openoffice.org/manuals/. If you want
individual chapters rather than complete manuals, go to
http://documentation.openoffice.org/manuals/oooauthors2/.
