My ooo 2.0.3 installation exactly has the same problem, so I have been observing this discussion for a while now. I think the colour selection for the ooo GUI (dialog boxes, menus etc.) should be included in the Preferences dialog. Additionally one should try to find out why some people have problems with the GUI colour and some have not.
