Most of OpenOffice.org does not require JRE to work. Base does.
You need to go to www.java.com and download and install JRE. Then
restart openoffice. Then follow this path to make sure openoffice
knows where the JRE is located: Tools > Options > OpenOffice.org >
Java. When you click on Java, the computer will look for the JRE and
list it in the window.
You might want to download "Getting Started with Base" chapter in
the Getting Started Guide at:
http://documentation.openoffice.org/manuals/oooauthors2/.
